🎯

In short

  • AlfaPTE publishes full, sectional, timed and custom mock options.
  • ScoreFluent focuses on detailed feedback and guided next steps.
  • Pearson applies human content review to several open-response tasks, so every answer must fit its prompt.
  • ScoreFluent reading and listening practice is free. Credits never expire.

AlfaPTE and ScoreFluent both give AI-scored practice. They are built differently. AlfaPTE is built around controlling the mock. ScoreFluent is built around understanding the feedback. This post is written by the ScoreFluent team. We say clearly where AlfaPTE is the better fit.

The one-line version

AlfaPTE is the mock-customiser. ScoreFluent is the feedback-and-coaching platform. Pick AlfaPTE if you want to build custom mocks and follow templates and guides. Pick ScoreFluent if you want per-trait feedback, a tutor that plans your practice, and an approach that fits how Pearson scores in 2026.

Where AlfaPTE may fit

AlfaPTE gives you control over the mock. It has full mocks, sectional mocks, timed mocks, and a "create your own mock" builder. You pick the question types you want to drill. It also has expert visual guides for each task type, with marking criteria and examples, and detailed per-question score analysis. If you like to plan your own study, AlfaPTE is a strong tool.

Two cautions. Treat practice scores as estimates unless a provider publishes independent outcome evidence. If you use a template, adapt it to the prompt; Pearson applies human content review to several open-response tasks.

Where ScoreFluent may fit

ScoreFluent puts its effort into feedback and coaching. It also takes the opposite view on templates.

  • Automated scoring. Submit your recording to get a scored result and feedback.
  • Feedback names the trait and the word. Speaking is split into accuracy, fluency, prosody and content. Word-level feedback shows which word and which sound lost marks. Writing gets inline corrections on the exact sentences.
  • A tutor on every result. AI tutor Flo remembers your weak sounds and grammar gaps, then tells you what to do next. You get free messages every day. AlfaPTE's analysis shows the score, not the plan.
  • Mock tests and an exam guide. Full mock tests across all seven exam families, including C1 Advanced and MET. An in-app guide maps the whole exam with notes for each task.
  • Free learning. Lessons, flashcards with spoken review, vocabulary practice, a placement check and a study plan.
  • Pricing you keep. Reading and listening practice is free. Credits never expire, versus a plan on a 10-to-90-day clock.
  • Prompt-specific review. Pearson does not publish a separate template penalty. Our free template-risk checker flags repeated, generic language so you can rewrite it for the prompt.

Which should you pick?

  • Pick AlfaPTE if you want to build custom mocks and follow structured templates and guides.
  • Pick ScoreFluent if you want feedback that shows why your score is stuck and what to fix, and you want to match 2026 scoring.
