Reading and Listening have two stages. First you do a router. Then you get an easier (Lower) or harder (Upper) module. Writing and Speaking are not adaptive. Some items are unscored tryout items, so do not judge a section by percent correct.

What changed in the 2026 TOEFL redesign?
A lot. The score is now a 1–6 band scale in 0.5 steps. There are 12 task types with new official names. Integrated tasks are gone, so each task tests one skill. Reading and Listening are now two-stage adaptive. The test takes about 2 hours. See the full old-vs-new comparison.
Is TOEFL practice on ScoreFluent scored by AI?
Yes. The real exam works the same way. Reading, Listening and Build a Sentence are scored by fixed rules. The four open-response tasks are scored by ETS’s own AI, and humans check a sample. ScoreFluent follows the same split.
How many TOEFL task types can I practise?
All 12 of the 2026 test. There are three Reading task types, four Listening, three Writing and two Speaking. Each has its own section page.
Is there a free way to practise TOEFL on ScoreFluent?
Yes. Reading and Listening are scored free every day. Build a Sentence, a Writing task scored by answer key, is free too. A Verified report, paid with credits, scores and coaches the four open-response tasks.
Will ScoreFluent give me one TOEFL score or a range?
A range. ETS data shows a standard error of about 0.35 band per section. That is about ±0.7 band with 95% confidence. One exact number would not be honest, so ScoreFluent shows a range. A half-band change between attempts is not proof of improvement.
