🎯

In short

  • PTE Magic is PTE-only, covers PTE Academic and PTE Core, and has mobile apps and coaching sites.
  • ScoreFluent covers seven exam families but not PTE Core, and is web only.
  • Both describe AI scoring of speaking and writing. ScoreFluent adds word-level and sound-level feedback on supported speaking tasks.
  • You can use both.

PTE Magic and ScoreFluent both offer AI-scored PTE practice. This comparison is written by the ScoreFluent team. We describe PTE Magic from its own sites, label its figures as its claims, and say where it is the better fit.

What is the difference between PTE Magic and ScoreFluent?

PTE Magic is a specialist. Its homepage describes a practice platform for PTE Academic and PTE Core, and it links to separate coaching sites for live classes. ScoreFluent is a multi-exam coach that includes PTE Academic.

Does PTE Magic cover PTE Core, and does ScoreFluent?

PTE Magic's homepage says its platform is for "both PTE Academic and PTE Core exams", and it publishes separate exam-structure pages for PTE Academic and PTE Core.

ScoreFluent's PTE practice is PTE Academic only. This matters for Canada. IRCC's Express Entry language-test page lists CELPIP, IELTS and PTE Core, and does not mention PTE Academic. If PTE Core is your test, PTE Magic is the one of these two that covers it. Our Canada test guide explains the options, including ScoreFluent's CELPIP-General and IELTS practice. Checked 15 and 16 October 2026.

What does PTE Magic offer for PTE practice?

From PTE Magic's homepage and features page:

  • A question bank. Practice questions "with answer keys", model answers and explanations. The homepage states 8,000+ exam-style questions.
  • AI-scored speaking. It says all seven speaking task types return instant scores for pronunciation, fluency and content, "aligned with the official PTE scoring system".
  • AI writing feedback. Scores for spelling, grammar, vocabulary, form and discourse.
  • Mock tests. Full-length tests it describes as two-hour, AI-scored and giving an "Unofficial Score Report".
  • Templates and free downloads. It advertises "PTE Magic templates" and a free "Essential PTE Templates" download.
  • Apps. iOS and Android apps are linked from the homepage.

The homepage also states 400,000+ students, 200+ partner institutions and "Recognised as Pearson's Elite Partner 2025". Those are PTE Magic's claims and we could not verify them.

Its coaching runs on separate sites. The Australian site describes live group classes, one-to-one coaching, recordings and trainer reviews of mock tests, and says it has coached PTE since 2016. A Vietnamese site is linked from the homepage. Checked 15 and 16 October 2026.

How much does PTE Magic cost?

We found no public price table for the platform at ptemagic.com. The pages we could read show the free sign-up button and the terms below. We did not create an account.

Three places did show money:

  • Its Australian App Store listing shows in-app purchases for question-bank access. For PTE Academic it lists 30 days at $29, 60 days at $49, 90 days at $69 and 180 days at $109, with the same figures for PTE Core. See the App Store listing.
  • The Australian coaching site lists four group courses at current prices of $259, $379, $399 and $899 AUD, each shown beside a higher "original price". They include live classes for 2, 2, 4 and 8 weeks, and AI-scored practice and mock tests for 30, 30, 90 and 180 days. See the course page.
  • Refund terms. The platform terms say it does not offer a refund or credit on a purchase unless a request has been approved. The coaching refund page says group classes get a 50% refund within a seven-day cooling-off period.

ScoreFluent is priced by use. Reading and listening practice is free with a daily limit. Each speaking or writing answer can get an examiner report in credits, and most reports cost 8 credits (an essay 10). A full mock test costs 40 credits. New accounts get 40 free credits, packs start at $7.99 for 100 credits, credits never expire and there is no subscription. See the pricing page. Checked 15 and 16 October 2026.

How does the speaking and writing feedback compare?

Both products say AI scores your answers. The difference is in what the feedback shows.

PTE Magic's features page lists three speaking scores and five writing scores, and promises instant results. We did not see word-level or sound-level feedback described on the pages we read.

ScoreFluent scores speaking on accuracy, fluency, prosody and content. On supported speaking tasks, tap a word to see scores for its sounds and replay that word from your own recording. That playback is not available on every word or every old answer. Writing feedback marks the sentences that need work. AI tutor Flo then suggests what to practise next. Our PTE speaking guide, PTE writing guide and scoring methodology show how.

Neither product is Pearson's scorer. ScoreFluent's scores are practice estimates and PTE Magic labels its mock test report unofficial. Treat both as practice, not as a forecast of your Pearson result.

On templates, PTE Magic advertises them. ScoreFluent does not sell them. Our free template-risk checker shows whether your own answer reads as a memorised script, and our post Do PTE templates still work in 2026? sets out our view. Checked 15 and 16 October 2026.

How do the mock tests compare?

PTE Magic's features page describes full-length mock tests for PTE Academic or PTE Core. It says they are timed, scored by AI and end with an "Unofficial Score Report" that you can share with a tutor. The App Store listing for its app describes scored practice tests as "coming soon", so confirm inside the product that the mock test you want is available on the device you use.

ScoreFluent has a full mock test for PTE and for every other exam family. A full mock test costs 40 credits and marks every answer. See our PTE mock test page. Neither report is an official Pearson score. Checked 15 and 16 October 2026.

What should you check before you pay for either?

  • Which PTE version you are booked for. PTE Academic and PTE Core are different tests, and only PTE Magic covers both.
  • What the free tier includes. Try the free access on each platform before you buy.
  • How long your access lasts. Time-limited access runs out on a date. ScoreFluent credits do not.
  • What the refund terms say. PTE Magic's platform terms and its coaching refund page set out their refund terms separately, as above.
  • Whether you want templates. Decide whether you want a template library or feedback on your own wording.

Where is PTE Magic the better choice?

  • You need PTE Core. ScoreFluent does not cover it.
  • You want mobile apps. ScoreFluent is web only.
  • You want live classes in the same ecosystem. PTE Magic's coaching sites publish trainer-led courses and prices.
  • Volume matters most. PTE Magic states 8,000+ questions on its platform site and 8,800+ on its coaching site. We are newer, so compare current bank and mock test counts on each site.
  • You want its free resources. The homepage offers downloadable overview, template and checklist files.

Where might ScoreFluent fit better?

  • Detail on the exact word. Word-level and sound-level feedback on supported speaking tasks, plus corrections on the exact sentences in writing.
  • A tutor that plans the next step. Flo uses your practice history to suggest what to practise.
  • More than one exam. If you are still choosing between PTE, IELTS, TOEFL, LanguageCert, CELPIP, C1 Advanced and MET, one account covers all seven. See the exam chooser.
  • Pay per answer. Credits never expire and there is no subscription.

Which should you pick?

  • Pick PTE Magic if you need PTE Core, want mobile apps or want its coaching.
  • Pick ScoreFluent if you want word-level feedback on PTE Academic or may switch exams.
  • Use both if you can. PTE Magic for volume and apps, ScoreFluent for feedback detail.

Sources and review method

Reviewed 15 and 16 October 2026. PTE Magic facts came from its own pages: the platform homepage, features, platform terms, Australian coaching site, course page, refund page and App Store listing. We re-fetched the homepage and features page on 16 October and found no changes. Student, question and partner figures are PTE Magic's claims. We did not sign in, so the in-product experience and the free tier are not reviewed.

Canada's test list comes from IRCC's Express Entry page, whose page details show 22 June 2026. ScoreFluent details come from the live pricing page and scoring methodology. ScoreFluent wrote this comparison and is not affiliated with PTE Magic or Pearson, so treat its judgements as the view of one provider.
